Mount Charleston with plenty of listings at most price points. Located just a little more than 30
minutes from the Strip, it's 30 degrees cooler in the summer time and there's plenty of snow for a white christmas.
Laughlin & the Colorado are already a strong draw. When the Hoover Dam Bypass bridge over the river is
completed, Nevada & Arizona are expecting a boom on both banks. It's no secret... here's what houses and condos are going
for now.
Boulder City overlooking Lake Mead was originally built to house workers building Hoover Dam in the 1930's
and has two different neighborhoods. The original city itself at the top of the hill which consists of a town center and well-kept,
modest suburban neighborhoods, and much larger, custom homes outside the city limits as you approach the lake. Boulder
City proper does not allow the sale of alchohol.
Several communities share this long valley at the head of Lake Mead with the remains of an
ancient indian culture that dwelled there since prehistory. I have to go and see what the heck all these people
are doing out there in 2008... There must be something going on.
Clark County homes to the south and west of Las Vegas along the California border. Rural estate homes in Toiyabe
National Forest just 25 miles from the Strip available.
(& Virgin River) at the Arizona border. It's about 50 miles from St. George, Utah & is the last place that you
can gamble for 1500 miles. Mesquite's a nice, orderly town with a lot of history & golf courses (not to mention a
few casinos.)
Lincoln County is still something of a mystery to me. It runs from north the I-15 for 150 miles along the Arizona &
Utah borders. The Muddy River wash at the south end is a rare spring-fed ecosystem and the topography seems to get more
varied (and greener) as you go northward.
